Cisco Wins 2009 DIGI Award at The Digital Signage Show

Last week at the Digital Signage show in New York, Cisco proudly accepted its first DIGI Award for our work deploying Cisco StadiumVision at the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium.  Awarded by Digital Signage Magazine and The Digital Signage Group, the awards “recognize resellers, integrators and service providers who have gone the extra mile to ensure success for their clients, thereby furthering the digital signage industry as a whole.”

Winning in the “Best Deployment: Entertainment” category, this award reinforces how Cisco StadiumVision is revolutionizing the fan experience. We’ve worked with The Cowboys to build the most versatile and technologically advanced entertainment venue in all of North American football, and we’re very excited to have our work recognized by our colleagues in the digital signage industry.

One of our biggest deployments of signage technology to date and largest StadiumVision deployment, the Cowboys Stadium features nearly 3,000 displays to keep fans engaged anywhere in the stadium with customized HD video game footage and real-time relevant information, see the press conference replay. In addition, these displays deliver unique, targeted promotions and branding opportunities for sponsors and digital concession menus to appeal to fan tastes, all managed on one converged IP network. All StadiumVision displays can be customized on-the-fly to generate an entirely new look and feel to the Cowboys Stadium, matching the unique needs of any type of event – from the Super Bowl to an NBA All-Star game to a U2 concert.

We want to thank everyone at Cisco, including those in the Digital Media Systems and Sports & Entertainment Solution groups, who dedicated their time and expertise to this massive project. Of course, we also want to thank AT&T, who partnered with us to implement the core connected stadium infrastructure that supports Cisco StadiumVision. Last, but not least, we want to thank Jerry Jones and The Cowboys for embracing the promise of a new, unique and world-class fan experience and working with Cisco to make this promise a reality. Are you ready for some football?!

Cisco deserve this : Cisco engineers have been leaders
in the development of Internet Protocol (IP)-based networking technologies.
Today, this tradition of innovation continues with industry-leading products
and solutions in the company’s core development areas of routing and
switching, as well as in advanced technologies.

This just goes to show how much respect Cisco has within the industry and also for the public too.  As a member of the public when I see the Cisco name I feel assured.
