Cisco Borderless Network Revealed

With the increasing demands of video and mobility today, a new network architecture is needed—one that can provide seamless, secure, and reliable network experiences. That new architecture is called the Borderless Network.

Today, Cisco announced updates that will truly enable a Borderless Network. The next-generation ISR, the ISR G2, will allow organizations and individuals to communicate anytime, anywhere and in any way they wish.

Marie Hattar, vice president of Network Systems and Security Solutions at Cisco, highlights the Borderless Network in this video.

From what I understand Cisco expects video to run primarily on a high level VPN like layer like with the Telemedicine and TelePresence. These are essentially enterprise level solutions, addressing personal communication and small scale conferences. Is that the main focus of the Borderless networks department regarding video as opposed to broadcasting and edge/CDN solutions?

My roommate and I both work in IT and our bosses are telling us to find more information on cloud computing type stuff.  It really is the new big thing, everyone is talking about it, even noon-techies, so I guess it makes sense that a big company like Cisco is going to invest heavily in it.
