ABCNews: Innovative Programs Give Vets a 2nd Chance

On this Veterans Day in the U.S., I wanted to highlight this story by ABCNews’ Bob Woodruff about injured vets coming home and one of the programs created for them.  It is is called the Transition Training Academy and was created by the U.S. Department of Labor, the Naval Medical Center, Cisco, and the Wounded Warrior Project to train wounded veterans in computer IT support.

Woodruff reports, “(t)o ensure that these service members succeed, the Department of Labor recently created a Web site called America’s Heroes at Work, which addresses the employment challenges that face those living with the wounds of war.  The courses taught at the TTA are tailored to the specific educational needs of the wounded service members.”

Our hats are off to our veterans this day and every day for their selfless service.
