- June 20, 2011 - 0 Comments

The Cisco Aggregation Services Router 9000 Series (ASR 9000) is on a roll and continues to gain momentum among major global service providers.

Today leading broadband entertainment and communications provider Comcast said it will deploy the ASR 9000 as part of its next-generation network that is delivering advanced business services in more than 20 major U.S. markets, with expansion into new markets planned in the months ahead.

Several of the world’s leading service providers, such as China Telecom, Comcast, Cox Communications, FastWeb, NTT-Plala and Tata Communications, are deploying the Cisco ASR 9000, joining more than 500 global service provider customers of the ASR 9000 Series.

Two weeks ago, Cisco announced major enhancements to the edge routing platorm, which will dramatically increase capabilities at the network edge and give service providers a simpler way to architect the next-generation Internet to be more visual, mobile and virtual.
