Cisco Networkers in Brisbane, Australia kicks off tomorrow, when we will welcome customers and partners to our host venue, the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. Networkers is celebrating its 15th year in Australia this year and in those years it has really cemented itself as Australia’s premier networking industry event.
This years’ theme is Knowledge is Power, so there will be a strong focus on industry developments and innovations. Innovation is the particular specialty of our keynote speaker, who I am very excited to introduce… Guido Jouret.
Guido Jouret is the Chief Technology Officer of Cisco’s Emerging Technologies Group, which is responsible for incubating Cisco’s future billion-dollar businesses. During his keynote Guido will be sharing with us some exciting developments on how our society will benefit from the innovation and new technologies they are working on over at headquarters.
On Wednesday our visiting media contingent are off to Mater Hospital to hear Mal Thatcher, CIO and Dr. Paul Devenish-Meares, the Chief Medical Information Officer discuss Mater’s Smart Hospital strategy; which includes its roll-out of an expanded suite of business applications on its Cisco® Medical-Grade Network across all seven of its hospitals.
On Wednesday night there is a very special surprise band to play at the Networkers Party and Australia’s very own comedian, Shawn Micallef, will close Networkers as the final keynote on Thursday morning!
It’s going to be a massive week and I am pumped! I hope you all enjoy the event too.
Follow CiscoNetworkers on Twitter #cnw09 and I’ll see some of you tomorrow!
