Leading online and print channel publication Australian Reseller News (ARN) hosted a glittering awards ceremony last night attended by 650 IT industry leaders in celebration of the best in the channel for 2012.
In recognition of our proven commitment to the channel, Cisco was awarded ARN’s Hardware Vendor of the Year. We were also recognised as highly commended in the category of “Best Emerging Technology” for our mobility initiatives.
As the awards are judged by our peers and partners in the industry, these awards have a special significance. It is truly an honour to be recognised as the best hardware vendor in Australia by our outstanding local partners.
We recognise that partners are the lifeblood of our business both in Australia and globally with nearly all of our sales worldwide going through our network of distributors and resellers. Global initiatives such as the Cisco Partner Plus and Services Partner Programs have helped support the business of our channel partners locally. Our sales and marketing team have also consistently worked with across all tiers of partners and distributors to develop strategic plans as well as ensuring marketing and sales strategies are aligned and integrated.
Cisco was also awarded highly commended in the “Best Emerging Technology: Mobility” award. Through the creation of integrated BYOD and mobility platforms, Cisco has been able to remove the barriers and address the challenges that resellers have traditionally faced when selling mobility solutions. Cisco Smart Solutions, Cisco Identity Services Engine and the recently launched Cisco Jabber are all great examples of this.
We are also extremely proud of our employees that were recognised as finalists in the Personal Innovation categories.
- Raymond Santoso, Customer Support Engineer was a finalist in the ‘Technical Excellence’ segment for his ability to diagnose and solve a specific technical problem with a major Australian service provider.
- Gaetan Guilhon, also a Customer Support Engineer, was recognised as a finalist in the ‘Customer Service’ segment thanks to his willingness to spend time learning a customer’s business which in turn has allowed him to understand the wider issues that each customer query represents. He has been responsible for building and fostering many key relationships with partners.
