Last week one of Australia’s largest banks, ANZBank, as part of its super regional strategy announceda $1.5 billioninvestment in technology to make it easier for customers to bank with ANZ while also simplifying the way the bank does business. The investment includes a wide range of initiatives including a major refurbishment of 46 bank branches, an Australian first banking app, mobile wallet technology and 800 next generation ATM’s.
In its continued commitment to support local and regional communities, ANZ Bank announced it will roll out Cisco TelePresence to 43 remote branches across Australia, giving regional customers far greater access to specialist advice.
This major Cisco TelePresence roll-out will be the largest of its kind in Australia and is in addition to the implementation announcedatCiscoLive Melbourne earlier this year, of Cisco TelePresence for its ANZ Private and ANZ Trustees banking arm, dubbed Wealth Presence. At the time, Catherine McDowell, the Managing Director of ANZ Private Wealth, said, “As ANZ Private and ANZ Trustees places strong importance on building relationships with clients, we believe the realistic face-to-face experience Wealth Presence creates is a natural extension of this and transforms the flexibility and convenience of the client experience.”
It is part of Cisco’s mission to break down the physical barriers to doing business and this further roll-out of Cisco TelePresence at ANZ Bank branches across the country is an excellent example of reducing the tyranny of distance. This latest establishment of Cisco TelePresence helps bring ANZ Bank’s specialists and valued regional customers even closer together.
