New Firmware Now Available for Select Linksys E-Series Wireless Routers –IPV6 Ready Logo Phase 2 (Gold)

Okay Linksys E-Series router owners, we had some new firmware upgrades to
our popular E-Series products including:  E1500, E2500, E3200 and E4200.
The IPV6 support will help your router work correctly when service providers
migrate their networks over to the new Internet protocol.  Downloading this
firmware will make sure your router supports their networks.  Also if you
download the new firmware your router can automatically detect if there is
IPv6 traffic on the Internet port.  If there is, it will be able to route
that data between the Internet and the user’s local computers. Cool uh?!
If you haven’t downloaded the new firmware yet – check out what we’ve added,
enhanced and some of the things we fixed:  Yea – it’s Linksys being committed
to giving you the best experience possible!

  1. As usual, I see no intention to support IPv6 on older powerful devices, such as Linksys WRT320N (http://homesupport.cisco.com/en-eu/support/routers/WRT320N), the most recent firmware for this device is dated 2009.

      HI Milu,
Thanks for reaching out — the WRT320N is an older Wireless-N router and unfortunately the router does not have enough memory to hold the IPV6 firmware. The new Linksys E-Series routers as noted in the above will have the IPV6 support.

  2. What about the E1200?

Unfortunately the E1200 V1 will not be able to support IPV6 firmware due to memory on the router.

      • Hi Karen;
Does any of the E-Series support snmp 1,2 or 3?
        How about syslog?

Hi Rene, — unfortunately the Linksys E-Series routers don’t support SNMP or Syslog. I know that our Small Biz router line up support these – so if you are looking for a router with these features – you might want to check out small biz line up: http://www.cisco.com/smallbusiness
