Cisco ūmi: Welcome to the Future!

- October 14, 2010 - 7 Comments

Have you ever participated in a video call?

Yesterday, a survey released by the Pew Research Center’s Internet and American Life Project revealed that approximately 1 in 5 American Adults have used video calling.

This past summer, over 3000 people were nationally surveyed to find out the importance of video calling online, as well as using cell phones.

Well, the survey results are in folks and it was unveiled that approximately 74 percent of Americans are Internet users, with 23 percent of people who have tried video calling.

Another interesting fact was that 85 percent of adults have cell phones, but only 7 percent of those people have used video calling on their handsets.

Since April 2009 to the summer of 2010, internet users participating in video calling has risen from 20 percent to 23 percent.

As video calling is increasingly becoming more important to our population, wouldn’t it be great to have an immersive video experience that fits into your home, automatically adjusting to lighting conditions and various room sizes to provide superior video and audio performance? How about an experience that is so clear and lifelike that you feel like you are in the same room as your loved ones?

“Video callers” I invite you to experience Cisco ūmi– Welcome to the Future!

  2. Hi, I am very exciting about Cisco umi, and think that I will these systems soon. One thing I can't figure is about $24.95 monthly service fee. I cannot seem to see a justification why the service fee is quite high for service we receive. Do you have comments about this? Regards, Brian

    • Yes we have been receiving comments about this. $24.99 includes unlimited umi calls and 100 minutes of video storage. Check out to learn more about why this service is needed. Thanks for your support!

  3. I have used video calling as a cheap alternative to buying an expensive plan for when I travel to other countries. A product like Skype is economical and easy to use. It is how I also keep in touch with my uncle who is serving in the Middle East.

    • We do have plans to expand Cisco umi use outside of the U.S. You will have to check it out! The experience is VERY different than any other video communications device that you have seen before!

  4. Hi Zoya, I hope that this product can really give customers a unique feeling like they've never had before because as what they say there are a lot of products like this which are free and very easy to use.
