Movember: “umistache” Month!

- November 9, 2010 - 0 Comments

Have you seen more men with moustaches than usual over the past week?

Every November, men are challenged to change their physical appearance by growing a “mo” (slang for moustache) for 30 days to support men’s health.

The idea of Movember was inspired in 2003 when a few guys from Melbourne, Australia, decided to bring the moustache back and create awareness around men’s health. No money was raised that year however in 2004 the campaign evolved, raising over $55,000 for the Prostate Cancer of Australia.

The Movember awareness campaign has expanded to the United States, as well as UK, Canada, New Zealand, Ireland, Spain, South Africa, the Netherlands and Finland.

2009 marked a significant year with over 1 million donors raising $42 Million dollars for Movember’s global beneficiary partners.

The Cisco ūmi team is proud to support Movember!
