Cisco ūmi: Serving Those Who Serve Us
On November 11, 1919, U.S. President Woodrow Wilson stated, “To us in America, the reflections of Armistice Day will be filled with lots of pride in the heroism of those who died in the country’s service and with gratitude for the victory, both because of the thing from which it has freed us and because of the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of the nations.”
To most Americans, we know this day as Veterans Day. It’s a time to remember the military veterans who have served our country and thank those who are currently serving.
Behind each soldier serving the nation, either overseas or on U.S. soil, is a group of family members and friends who love and support them. We look forward to the day when a mother can connect with her son in Afghanistan or a father can see his baby girl for the first time, all with the help of Cisco ūmi. They say pictures last longer, but we believe the memory of seeing and talking to loved ones whom you haven’t seen in months is invaluable and unforgettable.
We’re thankful for the commitment made by each member of the U.S. military to protect our country and the freedoms we value. Happy Veterans Day!Tags:
