Unfortunately we are not able to provide upgrade to support the WAG series for IPV6. IPV6 is supported in our Linksys E-Series and X-series products and we plan to support IPV6 in our products going forward. I appreciate you asking this question.

Is there any chance for firmware update for the WAG series gateways to support IPv6? Or your intention for IPv6 adaptation is to only support it in new devices going forward?

Hi Gerry — yes the E4200 V2 will say E4200 V2 on the package. Right now the E4200 V2 is only available online via online retailers or our Linksys store. Is there a way to tell on the external packaging what version is inside? The “live chat” support was useless and told me the only difference was a firmware fix.
