Have you ever gotten a parking ticket? What about a speeding ticket? If so, wouldn’t it be nice to be able to settle that ticket your way…a more efficient way…a way that would enable you to settle it when convenient for you and that wouldn’t require you to take the day off of work to drive downtown to go to court?
Well, if you lived in San Antonio, that would be an option. Click on the image below to read the full story from News 4 WOAI out of San Antonio.
As detailed in the news story, you could actually make a single trip to the grocery store, buy all your groceries and necessities for the week, and then settle your traffic ticket through the use of a convenient, interactive kiosk that enables citizens to connect directly with judges.
Furthermore, when applicable, fines could immediately be paid with a credit card right at the kiosk.
In my opinion, this process seems to give a whole new meaning to the term “efficiency.”
And there’s more to this…as this technology is used all across justice and safety systems.

The San Antonio story is a great example of how courts and cities around the world can use technology to transform the way they do business and to really drive operational efficiency that truly impacts citizens and makes a difference. And there are many other examples like San Antonio, as there are many other courts and cities worldwide already using such things as connected justice, multiple devices, and the cloud not only to provide better citizen services, but also to reduce costs, to improve safety, and to enhance efficiency, among other things.
