Calling all investors: Predict Cisco’s next big business idea
Our I-Prize competition is down to the semifinals! Many of the contestants are global teams who are now collaborating to create their video proposals. We’re using the latest Cisco collaboration tools to make it easy. If you’d like to see how well you can do as an innovation investor, sign on to the I-Prize site where you can invest ‘IP points’ in ideas you think are best. If your idea makes it to the finals, you’ll earn more points. The best investor will win an exciting prize (and bragging rights!)
We’ve received thousands of entries from people across the globe claiming their idea has what it takes to be the next Cisco I-Prize winner. The entry period has ended and 32 teams representing 22 countries on six continents have been selected to advance to the semi-final round.
In order to help incubate some truly impressive ideas, Cisco has given semi-finalists access to a variety of Cisco collaboration technologies to help drive their idea forward, breaking down any barriers associated with global teamwork. First, teams have been given Flip cameras to help develop a creative video presentation about their innovative idea. Teams can upload their video to Cisco’s Show and Share community, where all registered users can record, edit and share videos; along with comments, rate and tag interesting content. Using Cisco’s Media Experience Engine, teams can distribute their video to a variety of devices allowing community members to view their presentation regardless of location. Teams also can use Cisco Pulse to locate and collaborate with experts around the world. Additionally, contestants will have access to WebEx online meeting and conferencing application to connect, collaborate and share remotely.
The final round kicks-off on June 8 as eight teams will compete for the title of Cisco’s 2010 I-Prize winner and for the $250,000 prize. Go to the Cisco I-Prize home page to make your investment as we begin the countdown to the final round of the contest. By signing on, you get ‘IP points’ that you can invest in the ideas you think are best. Those points get increased if your idea makes it to the finals (or is chosen as the ultimate winner). The savviest investor will win an exciting prize from Cisco!
