3 Myths of the Cisco Cloud Services Router 1000v

- November 4, 2013 - 0 Comments

The Cloud Services Router 1000V continues to gain momentum as the virtualized routing and VPN platform for securely connecting your users and branch offices to the cloud. There are a number of public cloud providers offering different levels of functionality at different prices and selecting the right one that meets your needs can be a daunting task. After all, you are placing your most valuable asset, your IT services, in the hands of a third party so selecting the right one is almost like selecting a nanny for your child. Do you go with someone new and dynamic or someone who is more experienced with a good reputation? Beyond selecting a cloud provider you need to think about how to integrate the cloud with your existing network. Some of the questions to consider:

  • Will I be able to use my existing management tools?
  • Do security services like firewall and VPN meet my corporate standards?
  • What can I do for redundancy if there is a problem with my cloud provider?
  • Will my users application experience be the same?

These are a few of the questions you should be asking and we are trying to answer with new functionality in the CSR 1000V. Below is a short update from the Director of Product Management for the CSR1000V, Suresh Thirunavukkarasu.
