Celebrating the Success of Women in Business at Cisco Live Melbourne

- March 24, 2014 - 0 Comments

Women are making a significant impact on business today and at Cisco we love to celebrate not just the inclusion, but the empowerment of women in technology. That’s why at Cisco Live Melbourne we launched the Cisco Empowered Women Network.

The Cisco Empowered Women Network is a global community of highly motivated professional women who connect at Cisco Live events globally and throughout the year to exchange thought leadership and grow their careers.

The launch event at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre saw leading women share their stories. The speakers were inspiring and the vibe in the room during and after the talks was one full of energy.

It was especially exciting to hear Jane Caro’s thoughts on women in business. Jane moderated the discussion and is an invigorating speaker. The published author, lecturer, speaker and broadcaster is the definition of a successful woman and her anecdotal stories were truly inspiring.

The other speakers included:

  • Renee Bowker – CEO, Telcos Together
  • Janet Ramey – VP Technical Services, Cisco Asia Pacific, Japan and Greater China
  • Ros Harvey –  Founding Director,  Sense-T

On top of the Cisco Empowered Women Network launch, to provide more career and personal development opportunities for women at Cisco, we have also announced our gold partner status in the Females in IT and Telecommunications (FITT) network. FITT is a unique group that provides programs such as mentoring, networking events and access to female role models in the IT industry.

As the Internet of Everything accelerates, there is a growing need for the current and future workforce to be prepared to implement the next generation of IT across all industries here in ANZ and around the world.
