At the Women of Impact Conference this year on March 19th, our focus is to empower attendees to Be Fearless – by taking risks, overcoming obstacles and blazing new trails in their personal and professional lives. The Conference focus is to connect, develop and inspire the women in technology at Cisco.

Meet Jacintha Verdegaal, a Global Marketing Manager in London and one of our Fearless Females being featured for the Women of Impact conference on March 19th.

In today’s complex world of technology, Jacintha Verdegaal prides herself with the ability to translate complicated messages into marketing campaigns that appeal to her target audience.

She is also comfortable speaking in front of large groups, but this wasn’t always the case. After graduating cum laude from the University of Amsterdam, Jacintha took a job as a marketing campaign manager.   Her first manager would forever change her life, and inspire a fearless approach within her.

As a junior member of her new marketing team, Jacintha’s manager gave her responsibilities that would force her into the spotlight. Although Jacintha was scared to have the visibility, her manager coached her on how to speak in front of others, and how to push the boundaries in the world of technology.

Jacintha recommends that others learn from their experiences. Continue to try new things. Everyone has a different way of looking at the world. Recognize others who are scared and encourage them find their own style that fits their personality.

Jacintha has taken many risks in her personal life, and became fearless when she moved to London to take a job with Cisco.   Not only did she move to a city where she didn’t know anyone, she published her own blog for the world to see. Jacintha is now a seasoned blogger and an excellent photographer. If you are visiting London, you may be inspired by her restaurant recommendations!
