Video of the 2011 Veterans Corporate Technology Day
Veterans Corporate Technology Day (VCTD) at Cisco Systems will take place this year on November 13, 2012. The day brings U.S. military personnel, spouses and caregivers to Cisco campuses and exposes them to available resources as they potentially transition to the civilian workforce. Events will be hosted at the following locations:
- San Antonio, Texas
- Research Triangle Park, North Carolina
- San Jose, California
The multi-site event introduces mentorship programs and educational resources. There will be a sessions on the GI Bill/ Vets Benefits, Cisco Networking Academy and Futures Inc’s online career path and job resource center called “Pipeline.” Cisco veterans and executives will share testimonials about their own transitions and attendees will have an opportunity to tour Cisco facilities such as labs and the Network Emergency Response Vehicle.
This is the third year that Cisco has held Cisco Veterans’ Technology Day in partnership with Futures Inc. In 2011, Cisco & Futures, Inc jointly announced participation in both the First Lady’s “Joining Forces” and JP Morgan Chase’s “100,000 Jobs Mission.”

I think this is a great opportunity for Veterans and Cisco. It allows them to witness how technology can be life altering. Now, that there is a small hiring event aspect to it, allowing recruiters and hiring managers to interview Vets live via Webex from remote locations.
Great event with good people. The Cisco team did a lot more than just checking the box like many other career events that I have been to.
A sincere thanks,
Pete
