Virtual Computing Environment coalition -Can you list the benefits for your company ?
You probably didn’t miss the today announcement of the coalition between Cisco, EMC and VMware designed to address the challenges of pervasive virtualization and private cloud computing .We met Mark Fulgham , Vice-President Data Center Solutions to get his point of view on the Virtual Computing Environment coalition , on the Vblock Infrastructure Packages approach .In this short extract , Mark Fulgham describes some of the benefits he sees for our customers.
We also invite two customers, a CIO and a CTO to share their analysis of the Vblock Infrastructure Packages approach
We invite you also to tell us what are the benefits, if any, you see for your company and for your job, and what recommendations you have to offer

Nice job on a simplification of the announcement this week.
After watching the video I walk away with two questions that are consistent with the conversations I have had with data center operation folks this week.
1) I like the ideal of simple, easy to consume and tight integration, but that typically comes with a price premium. How do I get beyond the capital premium and sell the value of operational efficiency, accelerated adoption and seamless scalability?
2) We keep seeing the Vblocks sized on a virtual machine count. Doesn’t the workload LARGELY effect the size and density IT can expect to get with a Vblock. I assume your sizing is based on a typical mixed workload. What about SQl consolidation, VDI, etc?
IT is hungry to learn more.
Thank you,
Mark
