Cisco introduces an 8 Socket SAP HANA Server

Today, Cisco expanded their portfolio of server products for SAP HANA Solutions with the certification of an 8 socket C880 SAP HANA Server.  This server will be used exclusively for SAP Analytics and Suite on HANA workloads.

With this expansion of the server product line, Cisco provides a one-stop shop for their complete SAP architecture which includes Cloud, (Enterprise, Intercloud, Private, and Hybrid Cloud), Compute, Management, and IT Process Automation (ITPA).  The Cisco server expansion will also highlight how Cisco’s eco-partners may augment their SAP workloads on Cisco certified platforms

“Intel is extremely excited to see Cisco expand their very successful UCS server product portfolio to now include an 8-way server powered by the Intel® Xeon® processor E7 v2 family. Enterprise application customers will benefit greatly from this new option for running their most demanding mission-critical SAP Suite on HANA and Analytics workloads”

– Shannon Poulin, Vice President and General Manager, Data Center Group, Intel Corporation

Cisco and SAP worked very closely to create an aggressive timeline in respect to the certification of the Cisco C880 mission-critical server platform.

“We are pleased that Cisco Systems can further expand their portfolio of server products with the introduction of their new Suite On HANA and Analytics server for SAP solutions and further align their strategic direction with that of SAP.”

– Anthony Reynolds, Global Head, Technology Partners & Business Development, SAP

The product is available for ordering and shipment in the current quarter.
