Join us at DockerCon to learn how the solutions we are developing with Docker will make it easier for enterprises to adopt containers in production. Cisco is offering a hands-on lab, 1×1 meetings with experts, demos and a presentation.

Build Fast, Run Secure

When two leaders in a market join together, they can address a wide range of issues that give customers the confidence to implement an emerging technology. Last month Cisco and Docker announced a strategic alliance that includes worldwide engineering, sales and support with the goal of making is easier, safer, and faster for enterprise IT organizations to deploy containerized applications on data center and cloud infrastructure.

Addressing the Primary Issues

According to a recent Gartner report there are four significant issues limiting the adoption of containers:

Container usage for production deployments in enterprises is still constrained by concerns regarding security, data management, networking and orchestration.*

Cisco will offer a variety of ways for customers to learn at DockerCon how the open and validated solutions we are developing with Docker and our partner ecosystems will address these issues.

See Them In Action (Booth # G13)

Cisco sponsors an open source project called Contiv. It is the first container networking product certified by Docker. Contiv is the most powerful container networking fabric for heterogeneous container deployments across virtual machines, bare-metal, and public or private clouds. In addition to networking, it addresses a wide range of security and compliance requirements.

We are committed to working with our ecosystem partners as well as Docker to offer validated solutions. A second demo will feature Docker Enterprise Edition on FlexPod converged infrastructure (the FlexPod solution was jointly developed with NetApp) and Cisco UCS servers. These are the only solutions designed to cater to stateful and stateless applications. They address customer concerns regarding data management and orchestration for scalable deployments.

Customers have also expressed concerns about ensuring application performance and trouble-shooting problems with containerized applications. AppDynamics, the most recent Cisco acquisition, will demo their solution for Docker containers.

Get Your Hands on the Code

For those who prefer to use the code, not just watch a demo, we are offering a special hands-on Contiv workshop on Monday afternoon from 3:00-5:00, before the conference starts, and again on Wednesday from 3:00-5:00. We will have a lab, so you can learn more about Contiv from Docker as well as Cisco experts.

You can register for a workshop by clicking here.

Learn From the Experts

Cisco is also sponsoring a session on Tuesday at 2:00, where you can learn more about Contiv. Two of the engineers from the development team will explain how Contiv helps you build applications faster and run them securely.

You can also schedule a 1:1 meeting with Cisco, AppDynamics and Docker SMEs at DockerCon. The SMEs can address their questions and provide product roadmaps and demos of future solutions under NDA.

The meetings will be in room 19B at the convention center.

They are being scheduled at the following times:

Tuesday, April 18 from 8:00 – 5:30 (30 or 60 minute increments)

Wednesday, April 19 from 8:00 – 2:00 (30 or 60 minute increments)

It’s On US

We want to welcome you to DockerCon and help you network, so Cisco is also hosting the welcome reception on Monday evening from 6:00 – 7:30 at the Docker Ecosystem Expo.
