skoll_worldforumCisco is the official technology sponsor for the prestigious Skoll World Forum on Social Entrepreneurship (SWF) happening April 9 to 12 at the University of Oxford in England.

The goal of the Forum is to help advance entrepreneurial approaches to solving some of the world’s most pressing problems. SWF is an annual event with 1000 of the world’s most influential social impact thought leaders, social entrepreneurs, and the people and organizations who fund them from 65 countries. It is co-produced by the Skoll Foundation and the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship at the Saïd Business School in Oxford.

The Skoll Foundation and Cisco CSR work together as strategic partners to evolve effective collaboration for social benefit. At Cisco, we use our expertise in building networks, partnerships, and a successful business to multiply social impact around the world, contributing dollars, time, and technology to build and support educational, healthcare, and economic development programs in more than 150 countries. Solutions to major world problems like poverty and lack of healthcare and education require large-scale social change. Partnerships and collaboration between business, governments, nonprofits, non-governmental organizations, and social enterprises are essential.

skoll_logoCisco  is sponsoring SWF as part of this commitment to create positive social impact. The Skoll World Forum provides a unique platform for global delegates to openly share, collaborate, innovate, and advance social entrepreneurship. Cisco is providing the technology to facilitate this collaboration as the technology sponsor of the Skoll World Forum. Cisco’s WebEx Social platform is the event collaboration tool for the delegates at the Skoll World Forum — allowing real-time communications, content creation, and social networking.

Sixteen of Cisco CSR’s nonprofit partners will also be attending the event including Kiva, Ashoka, Water.org, Water for People, Health Care Without Harm, Partners in Health, and Citizen Schools. We look forward to using our technology to help connect the delegates — and to collaborating to multiply the impact of social innovation for all attendees.
