Why Wireless-N?

Before beginning, if you’re not sure what a Wireless-N router is, be sure to check out the in-depth description on the Linksys by Cisco Web site. For those of you who know what Wireless-N is, but aren’t sure if you should upgrade from your current router, here are our five reasons why you should:

  1. Speed. This is the obvious reason, but it also is the best reason. Wireless-N is simply faster than any other wireless options such as 802.11b/g routers, and in some cases faster than wired Ethernet speeds. What this means is that if you play games online, watch HD movies, or do anything else that could benefit from a faster connection—Wireless-N is right for you.
  2. Reviews. The press reviews for Linksys by Cisco family of Wireless-N routers have been outstanding, you should check them out. LAPTOP Magazine actually made the WRT610N its Editors’ Choice.
  3. Performance. In the LAPTOP Magazine review, the WRT610N Simultaneous Dual-N Band Wireless Router “broke just about every router-speed record known to man”
  4. Compatibility. All Linksys by Cisco routers are compatible with Windows 7, many without the need to download additional software.
  5. Trust. Linksys has been an industry leader for twenty-one years and the name Linksys is practically synonymous with wireless networking.

So this holiday season, if you are looking to upgrade your network to Wireless-N, you should be sure to ask Santa for a Linksys by Cisco router. If you want to give the gift of networking to someone special, you can find the best deals at Shop Linksys.

  1. Brand new standard so they’re top-of-the-line right now. The 802.11N radios are more expensive, so they need to pass that on, and some of it is just because it’s relative. They’re about the same price the Wireless G routers were when they first came out, but the price on those has fallen a lot since then.
