Two winners were awarded $10,000 (US) for conveying the most entertaining and authentic digital heaven and digital hell. They were selected based on the number of views, average rating, and a panel of judges from Cisco. Great premise, poor execution. Overall I was glad to be part of the contest, but there were several issues with the execution. And the stakes were high, so this was not acceptable. Ratings and comments system were often unavailable or not working. Also, view count seems irrelevant, yet it was the only visibly measurable metric. Anyone can generate clicks to a specific URL, that does not provide value when determining popularity of the specific content. Ratings makes sense, except there was no way to evaluate ratings from individual visitors. The intent did not seem to be driving traffic to the site because the recommended scenario is to drive traffic only to your specific video, and based on view disparity thats what happen. Based on my observations this contest must have been judged arbitrarily by a panel of judges, which is fine, as long as thats how its presented up front. Cisco, please review your M&P before the next contest! In the mean time I will improve my videography skills

Hi Rick, Thank you for participating and for your honest critique. It is unfortunate that you had difficulties communicating with us during the contest. We’ll work on enabling a more streamline approach in the future. As we stated in the social media release and terms and conditions, the judging was based on a combination of viewer votes (33%) which was visible , average ratings (33%) which was visible and a panel of Cisco judges who evaluated each submission for originality and consistency with the theme of the contest (34%). There is a web site with a bunch of white papers available for downloading on Cisco technologies and what they can do for the new web2.0 platforms LAN’s and WAN’s. I’ll put the URL on here for anyone who is interested to search through them. They were all free, but you did have to be a ‘qualified professional I believe it said. Great article, btw.. I love the 2nd one..
