Visual Networking in the White House

It is interesting to speculate how President-elect Obama will use visual networking when he enters the White House, after closing on the most engaging presidential race ever. For example, social issues that are of lower priority could potentially be managed via visual networking and collaborative tools online, primarily by volunteers around the globe.

In this video, Ken Wirt, vice president of consumer marketing at Cisco, discusses the impact of visual networking during the presidential race, in addition to what we might expect from President-Elect Obama on the web 2.0 front.

Very interesting topic! I was great to see how Social Media and Visual Networking were used in this election, and the extent to which Democrats leveraged these. I believe it is in part because of these efforts that President Elect Obama’s campaign was able to motivate, engage and empower young voters to not only vote for him, but campaign for him.
