The Human Network in Black Card Circle

The human network is a powerful concept and it’s hard not to come across examples of its effect in action. The social networking site BlackCardCircle.com (currently in private beta) is one such example.

I first learned about Black Card Circle on Twitter where the founder, Lotay Yang is extremely active and influential. Black Card Circle is essentially creating a human network of what they affectionately call “CIAs: Connectors, Influencers and Alphas.”  One’s qualifications as a “CIA” depend on an individual’s financial capital and/or social influence.

The Black Circle Foundation is the philanthropic leg of the community. They put the human network ‘effect’ in action by bringing together positive social change and business execution to benefit society.

While attending CES in early January of this year, I met up with Mr. Yang to learn more about what differentiates BlackCardCircle.com from other social networks. This video includes excerpts from that conversation:

What do you most enjoy about the social networks you belong to? Do you have any suggestions for them? Let us know in the comment section  cheese

can’t wait until black card circle is open to the public!

Ari Burton Feb 23, 2009

LOL It won’t every be open to “the public”. That’s the entire POINT of BCC. It’s where influential people can “safely” go without being swarmed by the general public.

Excellent idea, these inner circles have always existed though, maybe if your lucky you can merge with them or vise versa once your group reaches an appropriate influential status.

The theory of purpose seems contradictory. You repeatedly used the word ” connect”, implying a synergistic intention.

However, you appear to be isolating one group of like individuals from the rest. One might say, you are an anti-social group. This perspective being that this creates further separation and division for the sake of reinforcing ones own privilege and “specialness”. Stroking each others ego, if you will, which, historically is what these type of clubs ultimately attain.

Relinquishing the cloak of superiority may, initially, be deflating and unfamiliar, yet, the potential for mutual inspiration and collaborative purpose is infinite.

The significant choices are between inclusion and exclusion. Inclusion is a more direct the path to magnificent accomplishments.

Best wishes in your endeavor.

Lots of information about celebrities, and the lifestyle they life in this “exclusive circle” can be found at: http://www.the-blackcard.com/

It’s interesting though as Visa recently registered “Black Card” as a trademark, believe it or not American Express does not own it.

Dear Tres:

Well-said.  I hope my response below addresses some of your questions.

Black Card Circle simply provides a “safer, secure, and legitimate” (SSL) network for influential individuals worldwide.  The purpose of BCC is to create an environment by which authenticated individuals can come together to facilitate the relationship building process.

Authenticated here means that BCC members have gone through a background check and review to ensure that they are who they claim to be.

The Black Card Circle Foundation is a public charity that is recognized by the IRS.  BCCF is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that empowers the voiceless in society.  BCCF is supported primarily through the efforts of Black Card Circle to make a difference in the community.

Regards,

Lotay Yang | Founder | Black Card Circle

This seems a good concept. It has always been a few who have inspired the greatest change, like the true saints of various traditions. I hope the work you do will include the spiritual health of people, as well as other basic needs of humanity. So often we focus on "symptoms" instead of the actual root cause of the issues we face. We are in a time of accelerated spiritual growth which brings with it great opportunity for change.

Our overall success as a race is directly proportional to our spiritual maturity.

I do not believe the maturity I speak of can come through churches or any particular religion or instruction or reading of books. It must come through personal experience of the common man via some inward practice, which is meditative in nature. I believe that only through personal experience of our own deeper nature will we eventually transcend religious, political, or materialistic fanaticism.

It is my opinion that this is fundamental to creating a more peaceful and harmonious world.

I wish you the very best in your endeavor to serve mankind.

It is a wonderful.  What a great way to reduce the acute amount of noise on the “networks” too.

Lotay,
“Authenticated here means that BCC members have gone through a background check and review to ensure that they are who they claim to be”
ok this would have to break all sorts of privacy laws in order to even begin to attempt to independently verify the information an applicant supplied. NO THANK!!!

Roman Jul 14, 2009

Ms. Ngo,

Thank you for sharing your personal opinion. We appreciate and value your feedback.

Please be kindly advised that Black Card Circle ®‘s proprietary Member Authentication Process (MAP) requires the consent of the applicant. The background check itself is not conducted by Black Card Circle ® nor is any information related to the applicant’s background shared with Black Card Circle ® by the independent background check company.
