Collaboration

Those of you who have been to Cisco Live know what an incredible, near-overwhelming experience it is.  Cisco Live is such a big event that there’s simply too much going on for any one person to take it all in.  Against such a busy backdrop it can be hard for a product family to stand out, and yet that’s exactly what Customer Collaboration accomplished at this year’s show.

Customer Collaboration enjoyed prime real estate in the main Cisco booth at the World of Solutions, where we showcased core customer care products like Cisco Unified Contact Center Enterprise and Express, along with innovative offerings such as Cisco Finesse (our Web 2.0 agent workspace), Cisco SocialMiner (delivering proactive, social media customer care), and Cisco MediaSense (our network-based recording platform)A common reaction from booth visitors was that Cisco has leapfrogged the competition in features and innovation.

As always, our team appreciated meeting with partners and customers at a variety of sessions including developer services, product updates, planning & deployment instruction, and user groups.  These interactive engagements allowed us to inform users how to get the most out of their solutions, and equally important, the sessions gave us valuable feedback on our products.  Our laser-focus on customer satisfaction is a key reason why Cisco has closed the market share gap on Avaya/Nortel by nearly 23 points worldwide and by over 33 points in North America over the last four years.

I personally enjoyed my Executive Q&A Panel on Collaboration and Video with other Cisco leaders, which allowed us to showcase why Cisco is the leader in collaboration, and how we transform the way people work in the Post-PC era with solutions that are mobile, social, visual, and virtual.

Customer Collaboration partners like SecureLogix and BT were showcased on the big stage in John Chambers’ keynote demo, and it was especially gratifying to see John recognize us as a key pillar of Cisco’s collaboration strategy in his keynote address.  John’s recognition of Customer Collaboration at Cisco Live underscores how we empower our own customers to succeed by fueling critical business applications and processes that drive growth and innovation, and which drive demonstrable network value.  Customer Collaboration is good for our customers, and it’s good for Cisco.
