When Alexander Graham Bell said, “Mr. Watson — come here — I want to see you” into the first telephone, could he have imagined that the “see you” would someday be so literal?
Over the coming weeks, I’m going to share with you a series of behind the scenes videos about Cisco Cius, a first-of-its-kind mobile collaboration tablet built for business. In this first video, Chuck Fontana, director of Product Marketing for Cisco Cius shows how making a mobile video call with Cius is as easy as making a phone call.
Based on the Android operating system, Cius is designed to help businesses transform the way their casually-to-highly mobile employees perform their work, by enabling anywhere, anytime access to important business critical functions. During the course of his day, Chuck is able to take video calls while he’s out of the office, walking around campus, working at home, at an airport and even join Cisco TelePresence meetings.
In addition, Chuck can use the Cius to access his enterprise directory, see a contact’s presence status and find out if they are available, in a meeting or offline. Using the touch screen, an easy tap lets him make a call in both wired and wireless environments, to anyone with a video endpoint within the enterprise. Chuck can even escalate the call, in one single step, to a WebEx conference. Cisco Cius delivers secure, high quality and HD real-time video communications, along with powerful collaboration and computing — all from a mobile business tablet.
Please tune in over the next several weeks to learn more about the Cisco Cius and other features of its anywhere, anytime access.
