I’m thrilled to announce that Cisco has named Xerox as our new IT partner to manage Cisco’s global print operations, making printing services more accessible to our employees who work from different locations using a variety of desktop and mobile devices.
As part of a new managed print services strategy, Xerox will provide the Cisco workforce with more cost effective ways to produce and manage documents. Our new Xerox relationship will increase efficiency by delivering a faster print service, offer a substantial cost savings which Cisco can reinvest in new IT service offerings, and provide employees with an improved user experience by offering flexibility to print from any networked device. This aligns with Cisco’s direction around the Cisco Collaborative Workspace via mobile and pooled-printing functionalities.
Moreover, with Xerox, we will use ‘greener’ devices that use less toner, reducing our environmental impact.
To ensure that we create a strong user experience for all Cisco employees, we are phasing in our new Xerox devices beginning with a small pilot targeted to test groups of users in various locations. As we test the new equipment, we are collecting feedback from users to ensure we fully deploy devices with an outstanding experience for their printing, scanning and facsimile needs. Our goal is to ensure that the transition is as seamless as possible.
We are excited about working with Xerox. And for me personally, it was a thrill to meet Xerox CEO Ursula Burns recently at the Churchill Club meeting in Palo Alto – she exemplifies all the characteristics of a strong leader.
All of which makes me delighted to say that Cisco IT can now refer to Xerox as both a noun and a verb!
