One of the first things many companies do at the start of a Data Center project is look around to see what other companies have done. Wouldn’t it be great to have a book that showcases innovative Data Centers and has insights from the people who designed and operate them?
I thought so, too.
So… about two years ago I began researching interesting Data Centers around the world and interviewing the people responsible for them. The end result of those efforts is The Art of the Data Center, which came out last week.
The book includes profiles of amazing rooms belonging to Cisco, eBay, Facebook, IBM, Intel, Yahoo! and others. There’s a Data Center built in an underground nuclear bunker, another built in a 1920s chapel and even a server environment that runs entirely on solar power.
If you’re interested in Data Centers, sustainability or technology in general, check it out. I think you’ll find it to be an interesting read.
