Strong title perhaps…but thats the kind of over the top messaging I have been practicing now that I am technically on a marketing team. Today is the big day – all the hard work of a great many people that spent the last several years dreaming, designing and then building what appears to me as the most advanced, eco-friendly data center as yet conceived…(there I go again). Lots to promote here so bear with me – first and foremost – be sure and tune in today as they stream the grand opening event featuring our own Rebecca Jacoby and John Manville – you can catch it live on the uStream channel: http://www.ustream.tv/ciscotv from 2:30 to 3:15 Central Time. (cause its in Texas!). Jimmy Ray recently penned a nice run down of our own recent visit to this high impact low profile data center in his blog – I thought I would share a couple of my favorite things.
The last of our three TechWiseTV shows taped at CiscoLive in London is now out – its a very Special Edition on the relationship of Learning at Cisco and CiscoLive. (Click here to register and watch the show right now).
These two items are really well matched. CiscoLive has a rich history focused directly on knowledge sharing, learning and of course certifications. This is what I really love about these events – tons of smart geeks looking to have fun and get smarter.
Our goal for this special edition of TechWiseTV is to dive into the motivation and the opportunity of using CiscoLive as a milestone in your career. These events occur in key cities around the world featuring abundant benefits for those pursuing career advancement in the networking field.
Two big things on the agenda:
1. History of Learning at Cisco
2. Top 5 Reasons to Target Learning at CiscoLive
Networking is a lot like life. For example; remember your first stereo and how great it sounded out of the box? Oh yeah! Tunes jamming and you added +5 to your cool points. But after a few weeks you find yourself looking at other models with “new features”.
Now remember the first Virtual Switching System? A prized center piece of any network design for sure. Then as time passed we wondered; “If it could only have quad Supervisor support”.
I am still pleasantly surprised that the title of this show “Intelligent Switches Come out of the Closet” has not been yanked by our censors. The show is a good one of course, and double entendre aside, this notion of moving out of the switching closet and putting switch resources right at a critical point of entry is exactly what we are talking about. This is another of our three shows taped at CiscoLive in London, the Borderless team released a new line of ‘compact switches’ purpose-built for a very unique environment.
You can watch the full show by clicking here (this link will take you into our virtual environment which does require registration the first time you go…nice thing is you only have to do this once and you can poke around to see the rest of our content).
Lets review a bit about the content
CiscoLive London was an incredible trip and gosh it was only 30 days ago – our first little project out of that voyage is TechWiseTV85 our latest episode on Data Center technologies. Data Center Optimization: The Next Stage is now available for your viewing pleasure in our ‘still has that new website smell’ environment we affectionately call the CVC (Cisco Virtual Connection).
This show was another exercise in self-restraint as the DC team had brought out an amazing selection – if we were hoping that a global show would mean a smaller show…we were out of luck.
So how to narrow it down?
