Cabela’s considers themselves the ‘foremost outfitter for America’ and I know my Dad as a hunter and camping enthusiast would readily agree. Michael Copeland is VP of Operations for Cabela’s and he stopped by the booth to talk to us about how Scopix is showing real promise for them as a retailer looking for that next competitive edge. Scopix offers video analytics software that can measure customer service in a very intelligent yet transparent manner. It literally brings good hard metrics to what has historically been measure by ‘gut feel.’ Joe Sagrati, Cisco Account Manager did a great walk through the specifics of the solution. You can see that video on the next page…What do you think? Is this the future of customer service and ‘don’t need to be there’ management of remote employees? What if this was added to my home office…uh oh!Robb

  1. Good piece Robb – Video analytics will soon overtake text-based and link-based webstats. Folks who want to be open to the new wave of viral video marketing need to understand this better. And now that I see CIN notes via Twitter I could tune in quickly. I urge all Twitter users to do the same – or get a Twitter account to help track fast breaking news/info.

  2. PS: I prolly should have siad it better – the Scopix app is the physical bricks and mortar video analytics package to position at the store level. On the web, CIOs need to find similarly intrinsic tools to better serve the online community as well.

  3. Thanks 77ssc, I would love for you to expand on your comment a bit to make sure I understand. I think this field is highly interesting. The physical world that Scopix addresses is fascinating because I think it is so hard to measure these things. Seems like some web analytics would be easier simply because it is already based in a digital realm? I may not be seeing this correctly…
