Though the Channels blog captured quite a few video moments at Partner Summit, this press conference escaped our cameras so we’re happy to see this video emerge.
What did John and Rob cover in the video?
John kicked things off talking about the day Padmasree Warrior joined Cisco as CTO and was tasked with getting the company up speed on cloud strategy. Things have changed quite a bit in those two years!
How do we bring our partners along for the journey?
“Putting eight servers in a room and calling that a cloud is not a cloud,” Rob says. “A cloud is a very large-scale, extensible and elastic structure that will scale to a very large level with massive billing and individual billing capabilities.”
WIth the announcement of Cisco’s Cloud Partner Program at Partner Summit, the three designations — Cloud Builder, Cloud Provider, and Cloud Services Reseller — will empower partners to monetize the cloud opportunity, and provide the flexibility to choose a cloud role (or roles).
Cloud Builders will be largest market and area of focus for partners, Rob notes in the video. These partners will take data center and collaboration architecture to help customers build private clouds.
