Together We Lead Into New Markets

Good article in BusinessWeek on Cisco’s move into market adjacencies (Cisco’s Big Push into New Markets), but I want to be clear these moves into new markets make our channel partners more critical than ever. Together we will lead unified computing. And, together we will lead small business.

While the article suggests that Cisco could “go it alone,” I want to be clear…we can’t and won’t do it with out you, our partners. We can’t possibly replicate the scale and coverage that you represent. Not to mention your experience, market and customer expertise. You are absolutely vital to our success.

keith,

great to see both Cisco’s plans and your continued commitment to the channel.  A key question must be “how does the channel step up to the challange of entering these new markets” and how can Cisco continue to support the channel in doing this ?

I think the datacenter/Cloud Computing play is critical moving forward.  I would be intruiged to see the partner strategy offered by Cisco.  I understand the release of new technologies to particular partners for building a testbed so to speak, however, is the strategy to look at global partners? Or just a standard ATP.?

Evidence in the market shows that Cisco is working closely with all partner types to deliver UCS.  Technology Partners, Solution Providers, and Service Partners.

Richard to your comment at the Partner Summit we added a series of initiatives to its Navigate to Accelerate plan, which was described at the annual event by Keith Goodwin as, “Cisco’s global stimulus package for channel partners.”

Michael to answer your question, I’d recommend reading the data center, virtualization announcement we also made at the Partner Summit, whereby we unveiled several new channel programs and IT certifications to help our channel partners accelerate data center virtualization.
