Distribution is a critical part of our overall Channels route-to-market, representing more than 28% of our Cisco revenue.
When Dave O’Callaghan took on his new role as Vice President of WW Commercial Sales within the Worldwide Partner Organization, he left some big distribution shoes to fill. So the decision we made around appointing a new Distribution leader for Worldwide Channels here at Cisco is one we didn’t take lightly.
I’m very pleased to announce that Scott Brown will take on the role as our new Vice President of Distribution for Worldwide Channels. After a rigorous interview process, I am confident that Scott is the right leader for this important role.
Let’s get to know Scott:
He’s a 15-year Cisco veteran with nine years of field sales across every segment. In fact, he was one of the first sales leaders for commercial and worked closely with distribution partners managing floor days and developing a deep understanding of the 2-Tier model.
He has extensive management experience, overseeing sales, systems engineering, consulting, administrative, and regional management staff as well as managing partner relationships and marketing activities.
Most recently, Scott was Vice President for the Cisco Worldwide Sales Enablement organization, which is responsible for delivering world-class sales and educational services for Cisco’s field and channel partners.
Scott and his family reside in Raleigh, NC and he is based out of Cisco’s RTP campus.
I know that Scott is anxious to build on the great work the distribution team is doing and he will begin to engage with our distribution team and partners immediately. In fact, Scott and I spent this week at the Global Technology Distribution Council (GTDC) Vendor Summit visiting with many of our global and regional distribution partners. A great way for Scott to start his new role.
He officially assumes his new role on October 11, 2010.
I welcome your thoughts, comments or questions for myself and Scott right here on the blog.
