Kittur Nagesh, who goes by Nagesh, is a seasoned business leader in the networking industry for over 22 years, the last ten at Cisco Systems. His experience spans engineering and marketing roles in the areas of chip design, systems architecture, product management and solutions marketing for enterprise, service provider, and SMB market segments. Currently, as Director of Service Provider Marketing, Nagesh is responsible for marketing Cisco’s mobility solutions that are critical to leading the Mobile Transformation through infrastructure scaling and performance, new business models, and compelling integrated user experience.
Previously, Nagesh, as one of the founders of Safety and Security Systems Business Unit at Cisco Systems, defined and executed Cisco’s strategy to address the critical communications interoperability and collaboration needs of Public Safety and Home Land Security. Prior to that, Nagesh had product line responsibilities for Cisco Aironet wireless LAN solutions including product line strategy, software capabilities, network services, and wireless aggregation for both enterprise and public access markets, and grew the business to over $500M.
Before joining Cisco, as Director of Product Management at UB/Newbridge Networks, Nagesh was instrumental in creating and executing on the vision of a self-managing enterprise switching system. During his formative years, Nagesh started his career in engineering at Intel with emphasis on chip design and architecture.
Nagesh has an MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Iowa, and an MBA from the Wharton School of University of Pennsylvania. He is a holder of three patents in networking and has filed for over 20 patents. He has presented technical papers and participated in panel discussions at a variety of industry conferences in the areas of enterprise networking, mobility, wireless security, and interoperability systems. Additionally, Nagesh is a published poet and author, an avid toastmaster, and a marathon runner.
