Director, Critical Business Services Security
Sujata Ramamoorthy is Director of Information Security at Cisco, leading the Critical Business Services Security group. Ramamoorthy and her global team of Information Security professionals partner with various Cisco IT and business functions to create and adopt the most effective security technologies, policies and practices that meet the dynamically evolving business. She is a trusted advisor to her IT and business partners, collaborating with them to understand their strategic imperatives, inherent risks, and properly position the business value of security.
Ramamoorthy and team focus on Cisco’s evolving security architectures, policies, and the leading practices that address today’s global Information and Communications Technology (ICT) trends, including Any Device/Bring Your Own Device (BYOD), the Anywhere Borderless Experience, and the increasing adoption of cloud computing, virtualization and collaboration capabilities. She co-leads a multiyear, CIO-level, pervasive security initiative to create and accelerate the delivery of next-generation capabilities that will strengthen Cisco’s overall security posture.
Ramamoorthy regularly shares her experience and expertise on Information Security strategy and leading practices by participating in executive briefings to Cisco customers, and industry conferences and forums, such as Cisco Live and IBM Innovate. Her experience at Cisco transcends both the business and technical realms, as she strives to generate innovation and business value for Cisco, its partners and customers. She has held senior positions in Technical Services Engineering, Advanced Services, Information Technology and Information Security at Cisco.Prior to joining Cisco in 2000, Ramamoorthy held technical roles at Informix and Hewlett Packard Corporation, developing database kernel-level software, ERP systems, web-based CRM and Technical Support solutions. She holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Science, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics and Telecommunication.
