Vice President and CISO Steve Martino leads Cisco's Information Security (InfoSec) organization to innovate and adopt the most effective security technologies and policies; reflect them in Cisco's people, products, and services; and share them with customers. He has more than 30 years of high-technology experience in security, IT operations, product development and operations, marketing, and sales. Under Mr. Martino's leadership, Cisco's InfoSec organization equips the company to defend itself, its partners, and its customers from information security threats. His team creates and adopts risk-based data governance and technology policies and capabilities to enable and secure Cisco's customer and partner information and computing assets. Information Security influences Cisco and its ecosystems to secure information assets by making information security services transparent and easy to engage and adopt through streamlined and consistent processes. Mr. Martino strives to create a world-class culture of agility, innovation, and business and technical leadership, helping to make Cisco the No. 1 security vendor in the industry. In addition to his Information Security leadership role, Mr. Martino participates in various Cisco IT, risk management, and business transformation initiatives. He actively participates in various Cisco Community activities, including being the executive sponsor for Cisco's Habitat for Humanity efforts.
In previous roles, Mr. Martino has overseen Cisco's end-to-end selling and ordering experience, driving the transformation of the company's global commerce experience through Cisco Commerce Workspace and Country Entity Enablement. These capabilities have enabled a simple, collaborative way to sell, purchase, and manage all of Cisco's global offerings, driving growth, productivity, and profitability for Cisco and its partners, distributors, and customers.
Prior to joining Cisco in August 2007, Mr. Martino spent six years at Digeo as Vice President of Business Operations. He managed the design and engineering efforts in Digeo's central business operations systems, NOC Support Center, and internal IT operations. Prior to Digeo, he spent six years with Click2learn, where he ended his tenure as Chief Operating Officer. While at Click2learn, Mr. Martino led the company's SaaS e-Learning portal development and professional services business, transitioned the field sales organization from an indirect model to an enterprise sales model, and helped take the company public in 1999. Mr. Martino has held marketing and management consulting roles at Sun Microsystems/SunSoft, Pricewaterhouse, and Xerox Corporation.
