Federal Civilian Operation

Shannon Vanlandingham has been with Cisco since January 2007 and is currently leading the Federal Civilian Operation as a Director in the Public Sector organization. In her current role, she leads several Federal vertical market teams, which provide a Cisco advocacy to the Federal Civilian agencies they support. Shannon empowers her team in leveraging Cisco’s commitment to solution innovation, creating world-class technology architectures, and providing relentless commitment to customer success assisting agencies to achieve their mission objectives. Shannon leads the Federal vertical markets teams including Healthcare, Science and Finance among others. Before leading the Federal Civilian Operation, Shannon led the Healthcare & Scientific Operation focused on two of the verticals – Healthcare and Science. In this role, Shannon was the Cisco Market Leader for Federal Healthcare and Science aligning customer mission with Cisco Solutions to solve some of the largest challenges in the Federal Civilian market – better access to patient care for our veterans, climate change, and national security. Prior to that, she led the Federal Scientific Region focused on Science and Interior/Agriculture. Shannon and her team focused on understanding the challenges of the Science and Research community and developing innovative solutions to solve customer problems. Shannon has a unique understanding of the Science vertical because prior to her role as Regional Manager, she was a Data Center Product Sales Specialist responsible for growing Cisco’s market share in the High Performance Computing market.Prior to joining Cisco, Shannon held multiple leadership roles. She led a business development initiative in Public Sector for a small Toronto based software company, Platform Computing, in the area of High Performance Computing and Grid Computing (now referred to as Cloud). Shannon also spent seven years at Ernst and Young Technologies (EYT), Inc, as Regional Director of Sales and Channels. She began her career in sales with several leading hardware and software manufacturing companies located in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area. Throughout her career, Shannon has played an active role in inclusion and diversity initiatives and is currently serving on the Public Sector Inclusion Leadership Team and the Connected Women Board of Directors for Cisco Systems, Inc. Shannon holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Government and Politics from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.
