Samer Salam is a Principal Engineer in Cisco’s Network OS Technology Group. He focuses on the system and software architecture for Ethernet services and Layer 2 transport technologies, spanning both the Service Provider and Data Center segments. Samer’s work covers the areas of Carrier Ethernet services (EVCs), OAM, network resiliency as well as next-generation L2VPN. Previously at Cisco, he held multiple development and technical leadership positions working on system scalability, software quality, multi-service edge, broadband, MPLS and dial solutions. Samer is a speaker at CiscoLive; he holds several US patents, is a contributor to the IETF and has authored a number of articles in industry journals. He holds an M.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of Southern California.
