Panos Kampanakis was born in Athens, Greece. He received his first degree on Electrical and Computer engineering from National Technical University of Athens. He received his MSc from NC State University. His thesis was on efficient elliptic curve cryptography and bilinear pairing on sensor networks. He has extensive experience on cryptography and network security. He has been with Cisco for over 4 years.
In his time with Cisco he has extensively worked with customers in order understand security issues they face, common problems and how to resolve them. He is now part of the Security Intelligence and Operations providing early-warning intelligence, threat and vulnerability analysis, and proven Cisco mitigation solutions to help protect networks.
His interests focus on network security, cryptography, sensor network security, performance evaluation, service and product innovation and strategic planning. In his free time he has a passion with basketball in which he never likes to lose...
