Michael Smith brings over 15 years of enterprise software and telecommunications industry experience to Cisco Systems, where he is the Director of Marketing for Collaboration Applications, including Webex, Jabber and Quad. The Collaboration Applications team is bringing to market software applications for personal computers, tablets, and mobile phones that enable business users to collaborate and communicate with instant messaging, voice, video, conferencing, voicemail and social capabilities. In this role Michael is responsible for Collaboration Applications product marketing activities, channel marketing programs, and ISV and developer marketing.

Prior to joining Cisco Systems, Michael worked for Microsoft Corporation as Director of Marketing for Microsoft Lync and for Office PerformancePoint Server. Michael also previously worked in the telecom industry as a Managing Consultant for Deloitte Consulting’s Telecom practice and as a Director of Product Management for Pacific Bell Wireless. He holds an M.B.A from the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon and a B.S. in Information Systems also from Carnegie Mellon.
