Michael Schwarz is leading the Automotive practice in EMEA for Cisco Systems’ strategic consulting arm IBSG (Internet Business Solutions Group). As a core team member of IBSG’s Manufacturing senior staff, Schwarz consults with senior executives from the auto industry looking to capitalize on the transformative power of the Internet for faster innovation, more robust operations, and superior customer experience.
Schwarz brings more than 15 years of top management consulting experience and solid industry knowledge to the organization. Before joining Cisco, he was a senior principal with Booz Allen Hamilton based in Munich and Chicago. There, he worked for clients in the automotive, aerospace, industrial goods, and financial services industries. Prior to Booz Allen Hamilton, he worked at Siemens/Siemens Nixdorf and ZF Friedrichshafen.
Schwarz also stays in contact with academia and regularly gives lectures, e.g. at University Nürnberg-Erlangen and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology KIT.
Schwarz graduated from the Technical University of Karlsruhe/Germany as an industrial engineer. In addition, he studied economics with a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and received a master’s degree in applied economics from the University of Paris-Dauphine/France.
Schwarz is a German citizen, works in English and French, and has basic knowledge of Spanish.
