Mark Palazzo is the Vice President/General Manager of the Cable Access Business Unit for Cisco and was previously the VP, GM of the Access Network Business Unit for Scientific Atlanta. For the past seventeen years Mark has been instrumental in leading the growth and competitiveness of the world-wide Access businesses for Cisco / S-A. He has played a major role in leading the technological transitions from RF to hybrid-fiber-coax, analog only networks to analog / digital to all digital as well as the growth in S-A’s international business. Mark has also spearheaded Scientific-Atlanta’s growth in the China market and was responsible for S-A’s WOFE, SASCo, located in Shanghai.
Mark joined Scientific Atlanta in 1993 after having spent two years as a contract engineer for S-A working in their London office. Mark worked for three years in S-A’s International Division and was an integral part of the team that drove Scientific-Atlanta’s expansion into global broadband markets. He subsequently held the positions of Manager of International Applications Engineering, Product Line Marketing Manager and Director and General Manager of the RF Electronics Business Unit. Mark has been in the broadband cable industry for over 30 years, having held various leadership positions with several North American multiple system network operators.
Mark has an MBA from Georgia State University, attended St. Thomas University in Miami, FL, is married, has three children and resides in San Jose, CA.
