Marc De Preter

Cisco IT Network Design Engineer

Marc De Preter started his professional life as a researcher at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, where he followed all the work done in several IETF working groups, and co-authored an Internet Draft on synchronisation of databases in NBMA networks.

He then left the research world to join a startup that designed a TCP/IP network over Inmarsat satellites. He finally joined Cisco in spring 2000, and for more than 12 years, worked as a TAC engineer, supporting Cisco's Network Management applications.

Beginning 2013, he joined Cisco IT, as a Network Design Engineer, where his responsibility is to work closely with stakeholders and deliver enterprise designs for our internal Network Management solutions, to collaborate directly with Business Units to deliver specific design solutions, and to continuously improve our Network Management product portfolio.

In his free time, he plays music and does sound engineering work, in both live venues and recording studios.
