Maciej Kranz

Maciej Kranz brings 25 years of business and management experience to his position as Vice President and General Manager of Cisco’s Connected Industries Group.  Kranz drives the vision, strategy and P&L for a business unit focused on developing intelligent networks for process and discrete manufacturing, transportation, machine-to-machine communication and connected vehicles.
 
Prior to this role, Kranz led the efforts across Cisco businesses of defining, prioritizing, and delivering Borderless Network Architecture and roadmaps.  Cisco networks enable enterprises to conduct business and communicate from anywhere, anytime, and in any way they wish – as Borderless Networks.
 
Earlier, as VP of Marketing for the Wireless Networking Business Unit (WNBU), Kranz drove business and product strategy for business-class indoor and outdoor wireless and mobility offerings.  His team established industry-renowned positioning for Cisco with the Cisco Motion strategy and led the transition to 802.11n-based networks.
 
Kranz also led marketing for the stackable Ethernet switching business unit which he grew to a multi-billion dollar business across enterprise, small business, and Metro Ethernet networks.
 
Before Cisco, Kranz was Vice President of Marketing for IPHighway, Inc., a developer of policy-based Quality of Service software solutions. Between 1993 and 1997, he held various management positions at 3Com Corporation, where he was instrumental in the strategy, development and expansion into new markets of 3Com’s $1B Ethernet network interface card (NIC) product line. He began his professional career at IBM Corporation in International Marketing.
 
Kranz received his Bachelors’ Degree in Internal Business from the Warsaw School of Economics in Poland and his Masters’ Degree in Business Administration from Texas Christian University.
