A 14 year Cisco veteran, Julie Hens is responsible for all aspects of sales, marketing, operations and logistics in her current role as Vice President for the Worldwide Distribution Channel. Formally the Vice President of Americas Distribution, Hens instituted a new distribution landscape focused on optimizing access to new markets. Since her appointment in 2005, the US Distribution sales increased over 98%, and in July 2010, as leader of Americas Distribution, led her team to their first billion dollar quarter. In 2008, 2010, 2011 and again 2013 she was recognized as one of CRN’s “Most Powerful Women of the Channel.” Additionally, she had the honorable distinction of being named a “Power 100 Women of the Channel for 2011 and 2013,” also by CRN Magazine.

Hens was the Executive Sponsor of the Americas Distribution Business Forum.  This Forum was designed to identify new growth and partnership opportunities with Cisco and our distributors, leverage best practices across our Americas region and accelerate and improve operational excellence, sales processes and execution plans.

Hens was also the creator and Executive Sponsor of the Small Business Executive Exchange (SBEE) from 2008 through 2011, a hugely successful Cisco Corporate Advisory Board that worked to grow and evolve the channel model and partner profitability in the US.

As co-chair of the Silicon Valley Civic Council Hens is responsible for driving strategy and leading a team of employee champions who are dedicated to Giving Back in their local communities.  Hens is passionate about leadership and provides mentorship through Cisco’s Executive Shadow program. She is also a member of the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs and Executives.

Hens began her Cisco career in the Service Provider Sales Organization as Regional Manager and later as Operations Director, leading network Service Provider teams for the western region.

Before joining Cisco, Hens was the Area Vice President and General Manager for ENTEX Information Services, a $2.5 billion desktop and network systems integrator specializing in desktop outsourcing solutions and professional services for Fortune 1000 companies.

Hens holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of California, Irvine.  She lives in Northern California with her husband and daughter.
