Dirk Schlesinger is senior director and global manufacturing lead of the Cisco Internet Business Solutions Group (IBSG). The IBSG manufacturing team is focused on providing innovative ideas, solutions, and efficiencies to Cisco and its most important customers in the Automotive, Industrial Systems, HiTech and Energy industries.
Schlesinger brings more than 13 years of consulting experience and solid industry knowledge to the organization. Before joining Cisco, he was vice president and partner of the Boston Consulting Group based in Munich and Washington, D.C., working for clients in the industrial goods, utility, and financial services industries. He has extensive knowledge in the areas of business process reengineering, asset development and productivity improvement as well as post-merger integration.
Prior to the Boston Consulting Group, he was R&D engineer for MTU (Motoren- und Turbinen-Union) Aero Engines in Munich and Airbus Industries in Toulouse, France.
Schlesinger also stays in contact with academia and has given lectures at the "Wissenschaftliche Hochschule für Unternehmensführung" in Koblenz, Germany and the IESE Business School in Barcelona.
An aerospace engineer by training, Schlesinger holds an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley and a doctorate in mathematics from the Universität Mannheim.
