Leader of Technical Marketing
Data Virtualization Business Unit
Robert (Bob) Eve leads technical marketing including market strategy, thought leadership and analyst relations for Cisco's Data Virtualization Business Unit.
Cisco’s Data Virtualization Business Unit provides software and services that enable organizations to efficiently access corporate data assets from a variety of enterprise data sources, Big Data sources, cloud services, real-time streaming analytics applications, and the Internet of Things without the expense and complexity of creating multiple physical copies of the data. This agile approach to integrating data is quickly becoming part of the Enterprise Information Management architecture for leading companies, as they use their data assets more effectively to create competitive advantage.
Prior to Cisco's 2013 acquisition, Bob was the executive vice president of Marketing at Composite Software. Bob is a leading authority on data virtualization and co-author of the first book on the subject, "Data Virtualization: Going Beyond Traditional Data Integration to Achieve Business Agility."
Bob’s experience includes executive level marketing and business development roles at leading enterprise software companies such as Oracle, PeopleSoft, and Mercury Interactive (Kintana), as well as management roles at Ernst & Young and Intel. Bob holds a MS degree in Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a BS degree in Business Administration from the University of California at Berkeley.
