Wim Elfrink

Executive Vice President
Emerging Solutions & Chief Globalisation Officer

Wim Elfrink has dual roles and organizations at Cisco. As Chief Globalization Officer (CGO), Elfrink is leading the company's globalization strategy, and as Executive Vice President, Cisco Services, he is responsible for Cisco Services worldwide. In both functions, Elfrink reports directly to CEO John Chambers. He has been with Cisco since 1997.

The Cisco globalization strategy represents a shift in business management from a focus on geography to a focus on skill sets and talents. Cisco will continue to have a centralized strategy, but its implementation of this strategy, which is critical to remaining successful in a competitive, global marketplace, will be decentralized. This approach touches nearly every facet of the company's operations and creates a new way to deliver information, products, and services.

As Chief Globalization Officer, Elfrink leads Cisco efforts to use innovative business models to globalize many business functions. In this process Cisco will begin to remove the geographic barriers between people and businesses through the use of enabling technologies such as Cisco TelePresence, which allows Cisco to transcend physical presence and reach more customers when and where those customers want.

Elfrink is also Executive Vice President of Cisco Services, an award-winning and growing part of the business with annual revenues greater than US$5 billion. It is expected to be the first function to become fully globalized. The Services group consists of three units: Technical Support Services, Remote Operations Services, and Advanced Services. At the heart of Elfrink's services strategy, the customer is still the focus as their needs evolve toward requiring additional, targeted support services that are delivered through specialized experts, leading practices, and tools.
